I believe that horses are one of the most beautiful animals that I have ever seen.  Their majesty and grace captures my imagination, and I want to paint them all the time.  For those who already own or ride a horse, you will know how easy it is to fall in love with them.

 

My favorite brave boy is a horse called Cruz.  He is a bit accident prone, and that makes two of us.  I have enjoyed so much time with this horse and the people at the stables are great.  I don't have to charge around as if my jods are on fire.  I can just enjoy this time.  Of course, we all enjoy a good clatter about and it is such a joy to partner a horse.

 

I am inspired by other equestrian artists, including Stubbs of course, who created quite a remarkable painting that I always thought a little odd and it was a horse being eaten by a lion!  He managed to make it one of those paintings that you keep remembering and wondering about.
